Beginning with a piece by long-term collaborator Elizabeth Younan, Kimset is the newest wind quintet from the emerging luminary. Andre Jolivet’s Sérénade for Wind Quintet channels the composer’s obsession with mythology and ancient, primal music-making practices.
Followed by a world premiere by winner of the 2021 Arcadia Winds Composition Prize, Alex Turley’s new composition is destiny-in-the-marking. Rounding out the program with Mozart’s Serenade in E Flat, a composition of sparking phrases and miraculous delight.
