Arcadia Winds are playing on!

March 25th, 2020 by Arcadia Winds

The COVID-19 pandemic has turned all of our worlds upside down. Many are understandably hurting right now and we feel for many of our colleagues in the arts sector who are doing it tough. Thankfully, music is a beacon of comfort and hope during these times, and there are many things that we can do to keep playing, and continue to celebrate our art.

What impact has this situation had on Arcadia Winds?
The majority of our income comes from regional touring and education work in schools. With many travel restrictions now in place and schools all across the country closing their doors, it has not been possible to generate the revenue we are used to. We estimate that we’ve lost approximately 90% of our income during the months of March and April, with the following months heading in a similar direction.

What can you do to help?
We’ve decided to keep playing on during these times and there are lots of things you can do to support us, if you have the capacity. Consider buying our debut EP (or if you have one already, you could gift one to a friend!), make a donation to us via the Australian Cultural Fund or PayPal, or become a patron of Arcadia on Patreon where we will be doing a lot of our playing in the next couple of months! For more information, please visit our Support Us page.

Where can you see us “playing on”?
We will be uploading unique performance and behind the scenes content, to our brand new Patreon page, which you can gain access to by becoming a Patron of Arcadia. If you don’t already follow us on Facebook and Instagram, now’s the time, as we will be keeping this up to date with new videos and posts weekly. Finally if you haven’t already seen our ambitious new project WindStreams, be sure to give that a visit to get your fix of everything Australian wind music.
